A decis\u00e3o foi influenciada pelo registro de eventos adversos na plataforma VIGICOM HORM\u00d4NIOS, criada com o objetivo de monitorar e prevenir o uso inadequado de horm\u00f4nios.<p><br>O uso de implantes hormonais manipulados ainda carece de evid\u00eancias cient\u00edficas consistentes que provem sua efic\u00e1cia e seguran\u00e7a. Para qualquer medica\u00e7\u00e3o ser considerada v\u00e1lida, \u00e9 necess\u00e1rio que haja ensaios cl\u00ednicos randomizados e controlados que mostrem um perfil de risco benef\u00edcio favor\u00e1vel. No caso dos implantes hormonais manipulados, tais estudos ainda n\u00e3o existem. Ademais, \u00e9 fundamental que qualquer proposta terap\u00eautica seja acompanhada de provas claras de sua seguran\u00e7a. N\u00e3o \u00e9 razo\u00e1vel exigir que as sociedades m\u00e9dicas, preocupadas com uma pr\u00e1tica n\u00e3o suficientemente estudada, provem que ela \u00e9 prejudicial. O \u00f4nus da prova deve ser de quem prop\u00f5e a interven\u00e7\u00e3o. Se estudos adequados forem realizados e comprovarem que a pr\u00e1tica \u00e9 segura e eficaz, certamente n\u00e3o haver\u00e1 oposi\u00e7\u00e3o a ela.<p><br>N\u00e3o v\u00e1lido justificar a pr\u00e1tica com base em outros tratamentos comprovadamente eficazes que utilizam implantes subcut\u00e2neos. A via e a forma de administra\u00e7\u00e3o de uma medica\u00e7\u00e3o influenciam diretamente em seu efeito, n\u00e3o seno poss\u00edvel estender os resultados de um tipo de implante para outro sem a devida comprova\u00e7\u00e3o cient\u00edfica para cada caso espec\u00edfico. Os implantes hormonais frequentemente cont\u00eam uma combina\u00e7\u00e3o de diversos horm\u00f4nios, sem que se saiba com precis\u00e3o os efeitos dessa mistura e n\u00e3o v\u00eam com bula detalhada, indicando dosagem ou tempo de dura\u00e7\u00e3o comprovado do efeito.<p><br>Quando ocorrem as complica\u00e7\u00f5es, endocrinologistas e outros especialistas ficam sem embasamento sobre como proceder nessas situa\u00e7\u00f5es, pela falta das informa\u00e7\u00f5es confi\u00e1veis. \u00c9 importante, tamb\u00e9m, afastar a desinforma\u00e7\u00e3o que mulheres com endometriose ou sintomas da menopausa ficar\u00e3o sem tratamento devido a essa suspens\u00e3o.
